Zuzu’s Book Club

We are a group of retired teachers and we meet once a month. We read a variety of books and share them. We don’t always read the same books, we find that by reading a variety of genres we enjoy it more.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series by Stieg Larsson
The Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon
The Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins
The Tea Rose; The Winter Rose; The Wild Rose by Jennifer Donnelly
Shanghai Girls; Snow Flower and the Secret Fan by Lisa See
Cutting for Stone by Abraham Verghese
Elizabeth Street by Laurie Fabiano

Five out of the seven members read all of The Outlander books in the series. The author writes the story with accurate historical fact, vivid detail and develops the characters so they become your friend. As you read about their adventures you are anxious to find out what fate is awaiting them. You cannot put the book down, and when one book ends you are anxious for the author to write the next novel.

  1. Best book club I have ever been a member of. The variety and discussions keep my interest. I find I am never bored. There are genres I am just not interested in reading so I would be hard to finish.

  2. I was wondering about Outlander. Sounds like I should check it out for our book club. Thank you!
